Position Overview

The Client Service Manager works within a collaborative team of experienced investment professionals to deliver wealth management services to Clifford Swan clients. As Investment  Counselors, Clifford Swan is committed to a fiduciary standard of care in providing objective,  professional investment advice and portfolio management to our clients. The primary duty of the Client Service Manager is to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Client  Service Team in support of the Investment Counselors in the fulfillment of client needs. This role requires knowledge of processes, strong communication skills, and being a reliable team player. Client Service includes all of the management activities and tasks necessary for implementing the strategic direction and delivery of an exceptional client service experience for Clifford Swan clients and colleagues. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the Client Service team in the delivery of exceptional services that delight clients and enhances the relationship with Investment Counselors and the firm at large.
  • Develop, implement, and successfully execute initiatives related to the Clifford Swan client experience. 
  • Work in partnership with other areas (e.g. Operations) to develop and maintain  accurate and efficient processes that ensure an exceptional client experience
  • Work closely with Investment Counselors to ensure that an exceptional level of support is provided and that Client Service team members are empowered to work in the best interests of their clients and colleagues.
  • Accountable for leading the client prospect and onboarding experience to ensure flawless execution by the Client Service team in support of Investment Counselors.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day staffing, onboarding, performance management,  proficiency, and service delivery of Client Service team members as they contribute to the success of Clifford Swan and work to achieve their career objectives.
  • Responsible for the continuous improvement of the Client Service experience and the innovative use of data to regularly exceed the expectations of our clients and colleagues.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in client service delivery with a track record of
    increasing responsibility and success.
  • Prior supervisory experience within a client service and/or financial services
    environment is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced technical proficiency in software programs relevant to client-related
    responsibilities (e.g. Salesforce CRM, Orion, Microsoft Suite).
  • Experience in performance management, coaching, talent development and
    skill/aptitude assessment (e.g. CliftonStrengths) is preferred.
  • Strong influencing and motivating skills with the proven ability to work effectively
    across different functions and teams.
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills focused on the ability to oversee and
    execute multiple, concurrent workstreams.

Expected base salary for the role will generally be $125,000 – 150,000 per annum at the commencement of employment with a target annual bonus of 35% of base salary. However,  the base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other forms of compensation such as discretionary bonuses, incentive packages, and firm-sponsored benefit programs.
