Position Overview

The Equity Research Analyst will work closely with other analysts and portfolio managers on all phases of the investment process including research and analysis, financial modeling, implementation, and monitoring. Primary duties include conducting fundamental research on existing and new investment ideas, creating and maintaining models, writing internal research reports, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze industries and individual securities for the purpose of investment
  • Make timely and actionable stock recommendations
  • Serve as firm’s expert on assigned securities and their industries
  • Create and maintain company models
  • Effectively and willingly communicate analysis with portfolio management team
  • Contribute to internal research-related discussions
  • Adhere to core investment philosophy and process

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CFA and/or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years experience in a fundamental equity research role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects
  • Willingness to work in an entrepreneurial, small-company environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with research tools such as Bloomberg and FactSet

Expected base salary for the role will generally be $85,000 – $110,000 per annum at the commencement of employment with a target annual bonus of 35% of base salary. However, the base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include other forms of compensation such as discretionary bonuses, incentive packages, and firm-sponsored benefit programs.
